A Visual Investigation of CO2 Convective Mixing in Water and Oil at the Pore Scale Using a Micromodel Apparatus at Reservoir Conditions

چکیده

CO2 convective mixing in water has been visualized Hele-Shaw and PVT cell experiments but not at the pore scale. Furthermore, a three-phase system (i.e., presence of both oil) visually investigated. A vertically placed micromodel setup was used to visualize 100 bar 50 °C, representative reservoir conditions. To best our knowledge, for first time, we have investigated scale also multiphase (water oil). governed by diffusion convection mechanisms observed. The vertical transport velocity calculated be 0.3 mm/min 100% saturation residual oil-saturated system. First, always found easiest path through connected pores, then transported into less pores dead-end pores. slower than preferential path. water-filled ganglia with trapped oil observed water.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

the effects of multiple intelligences (focus on musical, visual, and linguistic) and direct instruction on learning grammar: a case on iranian efl students at elementary level

1.0 overview it seems that grammar plays a crucial role in the area of second and foreign language learning and widely has been acknowledged in grammar research. in other words, teaching grammar is an issue which has attracted much attention to itself, and a lot of teachers argue about the existence of grammar in language teaching and learning. this issue will remind us a famous sentence f...

Dynamic three-dimensional pore-scale imaging of reaction in a carbonate at reservoir conditions.

Quantifying CO2 transport and average effective reaction rates in the subsurface is essential to assess the risks associated with underground carbon capture and storage. We use X-ray microtomography to investigate dynamic pore structure evolution in situ at temperatures and pressures representative of underground reservoirs and aquifers. A 4 mm diameter Ketton carbonate core is injected with CO...

Measurement of the Rheology of Crude Oil in Equilibrium with CO2 at Reservoir Conditions

A rheometer system to measure the rheology of crude oil in equilibrium with carbon dioxide (CO2) at high temperatures and pressures is described. The system comprises a high-pressure rheometer which is connected to a circulation loop. The rheometer has a rotational flow-through measurement cell with two alternative geometries: coaxial cylinder and double gap. The circulation loop contains a mix...
